Aanvullende informatie/inhoud	Die Sonate für Tuba und Klavier beginnt ruhig und lyrisch. Das Eröffnungsthema ist prägend für die Atmosphäre des ganzen Stückes. Es wird von einem zweiten, energischen gefolgt und eine Wiederholung des ersten Themas beendet den Satz. In Satz zwei, einem schelmischen Scherzo, spielt die Tuba durchgehend mit Dämpfer, was ihr eine sehr eigenartige Klangfarbe verleiht. Gegen Satzende schaukelt eine einzelne Linie dauernd zwischen Tuba und Klavier hin und her. Im dritten Satz herrscht ein introvertiertes Klima, das von einem kurzen Allegro vivace mit wechselnden Taktarten unterbrochen wird. Dieser langsame Satz führt direkt zum vierten, dessen Eingangsmotif bereits im ersten Satz vorgeführt wurde. Diesmal ist das Motif kurz, angespannt und entwickelt sich in verschiedene Richtungen. Die Sonate endet mit einer Ostinato-Coda, basierend auf einem Fragment eines Tuba- Themas des ersten Satzes. The Sonata for Tuba and Piano begins calmly and lyrically, and this opening theme sets the mood for the entire piece.  It is followed by a sprightly second theme, and a return to the opening theme brings the movement to a close.  Movement two is a playful Scherzo, and the use of a mute throughout this movement provides yet another color for the tuba.  Towards the end of the movement a single line is passed back and forth between the tuba and piano.  A reflective quality permeates the third movement, and is interrupted in the middle by a short, nervous allegro vivace featuring mixed meters.  This slow movement leads directly to the fourth movement, whose opening motif has already been stated in the first movement.  This time the motif is short, tense, and is developed in a variety of different ways.  A final ostinato coda is based on the fragment of a tuba theme from the first movement. La Sonate pour tuba et piano débute dans une atmosphère calme et lyrique et son thème initial détermine l'esprit de toute la pièce. Un deuxième thème vif s'enchaîne, tandis que le mouvement s'achève avec la reprise du premier. Le deuxième mouvement est un Scherzo espiègle, dans lequel le tuba joue exclusivement avec sourdine, offrant ainsi une couleur sonore très particulière.
