Aanvullende informatie/inhoud	BTT, der Titel dieses Werkes, steht für die Instrumentation: Batterie (Schlagzeug) und zwei Tuben als offensichtliche Ehrerbietung an das Ensemble TGB( Jazz Trio), dessen Mitglied Sergio Carolino ist, und der das vorliegende Werk beauftragt hat. Auf Portugiesisch bedeutet BTT auch 'Mountainbike' (Bicicleta Todo Terreno - VTT auf Französisch). Der Weg ist uneben und physisch anspruchsvoll, aber auch naturnah. Diese zwei Aspekte waren meine Inspirationsquellen für dieses Stück. Der Beginn ist wie der erste Pedalhieb in der Anstrengung, einen Fuss (Tuba) nach dem anderen. Nachdem der Rhythmus gefunden ist (Takt 9), erscheint das Hauptmotif, das das Thema 'AABA' vorstellt. Das VTT wäre nicht was es ist, ohne steinigen Übergang (ab Takt 31). Der wird durch unbeholfenen Gebrauch von Taktänderungen dargestellt. Nach einer Weile hält der Radfahrer mehrmals an, um die Aussicht zu bewundern, was am Anfang der 'Funk' Section durch die Stille des Schlagzeugers simuliert wird. Darauf beschliesst er, zu improvisieren und eine alternative Strecke zu fahren. Auf dem Originalweg zurück (Takt 102), werden die Originalmotive wieder aufgerollt, mit einigen Unfällen, bis ans Rundstrecken-Ende. Tiefe Atmungen (lange Töne), bringen dem glücklichen Radfahrer den Schnauf zurück... The title of this piece, BTT, stands for its instrumentation Bateria (Drums) and two Tubas as an obvious tribute to the group TGB of which Sergio Carolino, who commissioned this composition, is a member. In Portuguese BTT also means All Terrain Bicycle (Bicicleta Todo Terreno). The bumpy and physically demanding ride but also the close interaction with the overwhelmingly beautiful Mother Nature are the images I tried to depict throughout this piece. The beginning is like the first pedaling, in an effort, one foot (Tuba) at a time. After picking up the pace in mesure 9 the main motif comes in and there we go, presenting the 'AABA'' theme. BTT riding wouldn't be so without a rocky section in the trail and here, in m.31, we have it emulated by the awkward use of measure signatures. After a while, the biker stops a few times to enjoy the view, simulated in the beginning of the Funkish section by the drummer's stop time, after which he decides to improvise and follow an alternative route in the solo section. Getting back on the original path in m.102 the original motifs are once again approached with a few bumps here and there till the end of the circuit. In m.144 after finishing the ride a few deep breaths (long tones) warm down the happy biker. Le titre de cette oeuvre, BTT, représente son instrumentation: batterie et deux tubas comme hommage évident au groupe TGB dont Sergio Carolino, qui a commissionné cette composition, est membre. En portugais, BTT signifie également 'vélo tout terrain' (VTT en français - Bicicleta Todo Terreno). Le tour est accidenté et physiquement exigeant, mais aussi proche de la nature. Ces deux aspects sont mes sources d'inspiration pour cette pièce. Le début est comme le premier coup de pédale dans l'effort, un pied (tuba) à la fois. Après avoir trouvé le rythme mesure 9, le motif principal apparaît, présentant le thème 'AABA'. Le VTT ne serait ce qu'il est sans passage rocailleux qui débute mesure 31, représenté par une utilisation scabreuse des changements de mesure. Après quelques instants, le cycliste s'arrête plusieurs fois pour apprécier la vue, simulée dans le début de la section 'Funk' par les silences du batteur. Après quoi il décide d'improviser et de suivre un itinéraire alternatif dans son solo. Revenant sur le chemin initial, (mesure 102) les motifs originaux sont à nouveau approchés avec quelques accidents jusqu'à la fin du circuit. Quelques respirations profondes (longues notes) permettent au cycliste heureux de retrouver son souffle... Gewicht: 0.258
