Aanvullende informatie/inhoud	Complex wurde im Herbst 2011 komponiert im Auftrag des französischen Tubisten François Thuillier, als Fortsetzung einer Zusammenarbeit, die bereits 2006 mit Episodes, einem Konzert für Tuba und Blasorchester angefangen hatte. Complex ist ein Duett, auf dem Programm eines Instrumentalwettbewerbs in Amiens, Frankreich, im 2012. In dieser Mini-Suite sind grundsätzliche Elemente vereint, die jeder vollendete Musiker beherrschen sollte: rigorose rhythmische Präzision, lyrische Qualität, Kontrolle von Phrasierung, Zusammenspiel und Dialog, Ausführung asymetrischer Takte. Der musikalische Charakter sollte anfangs 'fragend' und strikt ausgeführt werden, dann entwickelt sich eine Verdeutlichung der melodischen Linien und der musikalischen Sprache unter systematischer Anwendung der verschiedenen Motive. Besondere Beachtung sollte den melodischen Linien und einer intensiven rhythmischen Führung geschenkt werden. Jean-Christophe Cholet, Februar 2012, Paucourt, Frankreich Complex, commissioned by the French tubist François Thuillier, was written in the autumn of 2011. It was preceded by a collaboration between the composer and the tubaist that began in 2006 with the Concerto Episodes for tuba and wind band. The current duo is the set piece for an instrumental competition to be held in Amiens (France) in June 2012. In fact Complex is, in actuality, a mini-suite encompassing primordial elements that must be both understood and executed by an accomplished musician, including rigorous rhythmical placement, an instrumental 'singing' quality, control of phrasing, interaction and dialogue between the performers, and the execution of uneven and mixed meters. The musical character at the beginning should be interrogative and strict in its execution, followed by the subsequent development, which is oriented towards a clarification of melodies and musical discourse with a systematic use of the different motives all along throughout the piece. The melodic lines and the predominance of the sustained, underlying rhythmical lead should be treated with special care. Ce duo-ci est destiné à un concours instrumental à Amiens, France, en 2012. Complex est une 'mini-suite' dans laquelle sont associés quelques éléments primordiaux qu'un musicien accompli doit maîtriser: rigueur du placement rythmique, qualité du chant, contrôle du phrasé, interaction et dialogue, maîtrise des mesures asymétriques. Le caractère au départ se doit d'être interrogateur et stricte dans l'exécution, puis, tout le développement s'oriente vers une clarification des mélodies et du propos musical avec une utilisation systématique des différents motifs tout au long de la pièce.
